Creating a suspended staircase

One of our clients contacted us to design a cantilevered staircase for their home. We managed the entire project, from computer-aided modelling (including the production of detailed drawings) through to installation, involving highly technical fabrication to meet the client’s requirements and suit the layout of the premises.

The suspended staircase was designed using computer software to create a 3D visualisation and rendering of the project. In order to free up space and give the whole design an aesthetically pleasing appearance, we designed a quarter-turn suspended staircase with a landing that rests against one of the walls and supports all the steps.

The steps are suspended by a system of rods, thereby ensuring high structural strength for the entire staircase and its individual steps. This design gives the suspended staircase a very pleasing, airy feel and blends in perfectly with the room.

The finish was achieved using a white powder-coated finish to give the whole structure an even lighter appearance. The steps, meanwhile, are clad in rubberwood panels and feature a recessed joint at the bottom where they meet the metal step supports.

We would like to thank our client for placing their trust in us and enabling us to complete and sign off on one of our finest projects.
